The Wakefield Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is comprised of eight members, two of which must include a City Council member and the City Manager or their designee. These two voting members serve on the Board during the length of their terms. One seat may be reserved for a representative of Wakefield Township upon recommendation by the Wakefield Township Board of Trustees and confirmed by the Wakefield City Council. In addition, one junior or senior student in the Wakefield/Marenisco School District may be appointed as a non-voting member.
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board members serve without compensation and are responsible for advising the City Council on planning, construction, land acquisition, operating and maintenance, organized and coordinated activities and other issues related to park and recreational activities in the City of Wakefield.
